Getting there & Around

Air: DC is served by 3 airports. Reagan National (DCA) is the MOST convenient and it is connected by Metro. Washington Flyer lists ground transportation options for Washington Dulles (IAD). Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) is the third.

Train/Bus: Amtrak serves many cities along the east coast and Union Station is connected by Metro. Most bus lines service Union Station which is connected by Metro.

Sightseeing/Attractions

Cherry Blossoms-Tidal Basin, National Mall, Arlington Cemetery, and most of Smithsonian museums can all be reached within 10 minutes on the metro from the marathon hotel.

Mt. Vernon Trail is a short walk (4 min) from the hotel. The trail winds alongside the Potomac River offering uninterrupted views of Washington, D.C.'s skyline and is great for a run or a bike ride.

Parking

If you are staying at the marathon hotel, there is no need for a car. If you are driving or renting a car, below are your parking options.

On Site at the Hotel:
$8/hour; $26/day (garage entrance on 20th Street between S. Bell St & S. Clark St)

Short walking distance from the Hotel:
Parking is FREE on weekdays after 4:00 PM and all weekend (till Monday 6:00 AM) in many garages around Crystal City.
The closest garage to the marathon hotel is at 220 20th Street Arlington, VA (417 feet from hotel entrance).

Around the After-Party Venue (Monday night)

Metered street parking until 10:00 PM.
Short walking distance from the venue: Garage Parking at 7730 Woodmont Ave. It is free if you leave after midnight (gates are open with no garage attendants). But leave between 10:00 PM and midnight and you will be charged for the time until 10:00 PM.

Crystal City: There are many dining options around the hotel within a short walk.
